Teater Triptyk

~

Teater Triptyk was formed in the year 2000 in Sweden, and the idea was to model an art theatre that retreated from all psychology and naturalism in theatre. As modern theatre in the 20th century, Teater Triptyk borrowed elements of expressionism, symbolistic painting, but above all from oriental theatre. We wanted to create a genuine "theatre of dreams and illusions". A theatre that could entertain and seduce, but also deal with difficult and serious subjects.

Deniz Hellberg graduated from Gothenburg University with a degree in Theatre Direction. He made his début as writer with the international theatre group Teater Kolibri in 1999. Shortly after, he founded Teater Triptyk, which immediately caught the attention of the press and audiences for its pioneering theatre aesthetics. Hellberg, who had also studied religion at Gothenburg University, continued for a number of years to conduct research at different institutes in the Middle East.
Recently, Mr Hellberg has been in great demand for his skills as theatre pedagogue and teacher in creative writing.
