Teater Triptyk was founded in Sweden in 1999. It was created with the intention of establishing a theatre that can rival the ruling European theatrical tradition. Opposed to the use of modern western psychological theatrical elements, our goal is to combine elements from the European and Asian theatre traditions. Rather than being caught up discussing temporary problems in modern western society, we aim to create universal thematic stories for future generations. It was rather important for us to break away from the "forth wall" aesthetic principle that tends to focus on psychological drama and instead, speak directly to the audiences' heart.

We attempt to incorporate elements from poetry, non-drama, symbolic paintings and classic archetypal stories. We hope to find simplicity that contains beauty as well as horror. We use tools such as form and shape in order to find a universal artistic meaning of life. Therefore, we want our theatre to be "high" rather than"low".

Artistic honesty is our primary target. The Eastern world has been our main spiritual guide in our goal to build a bridge between the cultures of the East and the West. This bridge is the heart of our artistic life.
